QC Manager Ready Mix Concrete (RMC)

Position: Quality Control (QC) Manager – RMC

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Quality Control (QC) Manager to oversee all quality-related activities at our Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) plant. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining product quality from raw material inspection to concrete production, site support, testing, mix design optimization, customer satisfaction, and cost control while ensuring compliance with IS standards.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control & Testing

Perform quality inspection of cement, aggregates, sand, admixtures, water, and other raw materials.
Conduct routine laboratory testing as per IS standards.
Prepare and maintain all quality records, test reports, and calibration records.
Ensure compliance with ISO, QMS, and company quality procedures.
Cube Casting & Concrete Testing

Supervise cube casting at plant and customer sites.
Conduct slump tests, compressive strength tests, and workability tests.
Monitor 7-day and 28-day cube strength results.
Investigate test failures and implement corrective actions.
Mix Design & Trial Mixes

Develop economical and durable concrete mix designs.
Conduct laboratory and site trial mixes as per client specifications.
Optimize cement consumption without compromising quality.
Modify mix designs based on weather, material variation, and customer requirements.
Site Technical Support & After-Sales Service

Visit customer sites to resolve concrete-related issues.
Provide technical guidance during slab, beam, column, raft, and foundation casting.
Ensure hassle-free concrete placement, pumping, vibration, finishing, and curing.
Coordinate with project engineers, consultants, and contractors for successful concreting.
Customer Complaint Handling

Investigate quality complaints related to strength, workability, setting time, cracks, segregation, or finishing.
Identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
Maintain excellent customer satisfaction through prompt technical support.
Cost Control

Optimize mix proportions to reduce production costs.
Minimize material wastage and concrete rejection.
Monitor cement consumption, admixture dosage, and production efficiency.
Improve plant productivity while maintaining required quality standards.
Plant Quality Management

Monitor batching plant calibration and equipment accuracy.
Ensure proper stock management of raw materials.
Maintain laboratory equipment and testing instruments.
Coordinate with production, dispatch, and sales departments.
Documentation & Compliance

Prepare daily quality reports and monthly MIS reports.
Maintain calibration certificates, cube registers, mix design records, and quality documentation.
Ensure compliance with IS 456, IS 10262, IS 4926, and other relevant Indian Standards.
Required Skills

Strong knowledge of concrete technology and mix design.
Experience in cube casting, slump testing, and compressive strength testing.
Knowledge of IS codes and quality standards.
Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
Customer handling and site coordination experience.
Strong communication and leadership abilities.
Preferred Qualification

B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
5–10 years of experience in Ready Mix Concrete (RMC) Quality Control.
Hands-on experience with laboratory testing, batching plants, and site concreting.
